Well, we are back for the 2nd Annual Ellington Sprint Triathlon in 2010. Thanks for a great race in 2009; although it was a challenging course, all the athletes did an awesome job!!! Also, thanks to all the volunteers, Ellington & Crystal Lake EMS, Police & Fire Departments, Platt Timing Systems and most of all, the Ellington Parks & Recreation Department for all their support.

The course will remain very similar to the 2009 course; however, there may be a subtle change to the bike course...updates will be available next month. Registration will open on March 1, 2010 & the fee will be $60.00; we would like to increase our donation to the Ellington Fuel Fund. In 2009, we donated $2,500 to the fund; in 2010, our goal is to hit $5,000!

The race will take place in the beautiful countryside of Ellington, CT in the Crystal Lake region. The swim will consist of a bouy to bouy 1/4 mile swim in Crystal Lake followed by a 13-mile road bike on the back country roads of Ellington & Tolland. The final stage of the race will be a 3.1 mile run around Crystal Lake with a glorious finish back at the lake.

This race is for all triathletes from beginner to advanced and kids 12 years and above. We are looking to host a fun event that brings an athletic challenge, raise funds for a noble cause and hopefully create some lasting friendships through the sport of triathlon.

We are extending the maximum amount of racers to 200 in 2010. Although, this is increased from 2009, we will still host a high quality and safe race that all ages & abilities can enjoy. Thanks for all your support and we look forward to seeing you on race day in July 2010!
